This applies to old style Counter only. We recommend the new version of Counter, see this page for setting this up.
Login to your control panel and go into “webshell3”. Locate the directory: yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/BSCounter/data/
Inside this directory there should be a file that is associated with your counter. Ex. index.html, counter.html. Basically whatever page you setup your counter for. Once you have located this file click on the filename itself to bring up a properties box on the right.
At the bottom of the properties box on the right, click on the button that says “edit”.
This file will look very confusing and most of it is just counter code. However you might notice that the very first number in the file corresponds to the number your counter is currently set to. You are able to change this number to whatever you want your counter to be set to.
Once you’ve changed the number click “save” at the top and close it down. Then you should be able to refresh your counter page and view the new updated numbers.
